Its Labor Day and its time to light up that BBQ pit. Put that meat on the grill and open them alcohol beverages up. Time to enjoy this day. Well dont just enjoy the day, Enjoy the night too. We got 4 djs doing some tag team sets. We talking tag team like the old school rockers, tag team like the 4 horsemen, you get the picture. Dj C-los, and Bumsquad Djz Dus, Bounz and myself King G will be doing it big at the new venue Elements. Whats even newer is we are doing it outside in the all out best patio you can find. If you dont know where its at, google it. Its 2011. The best part is right after your bbq starts wearing off and you start getting hungry, we got a complimentary buffet from Water St. I think that is my favorite part of the night.
On 8/14/2011 we lost a great person and great dj. The first time I met devious was an awkward one. I remember him mean mugging me as I dj at my spot, not knowing who he was, he was a starting up dj just trying to battle and get his respect as a dj. At the time it I thought why didnt this guy just come up and talk to me. But at the same time I had respect for the guy for the old school battle and wanting to deserve his respect. I knew this guy was into being a dj and his music. We finally got to know each other and became real cool. Nothing but love when we saw each other. I never got the privilege to play a set with this guy but I heard nothing but great things about his sets. Also I heard he was getting into the producing game and he was getting mad love from all the locals. His talents were awesome and his hip hop music love was strong and he wasnt afraid to show it. He was the dj for the well known PZHC and he will be missed by many. May he Rest In Peace. God bless his family.
The Drummer and Dj Show continues this year on the lovely July 4th weekend. Sunday July 3rd the day before the big fireworks. So we know a majority of people have the holiday off. Well its been a while now but I have moved next door. I have held down Porkys night club for over 4 years on Saturday Nights and it has been golden from day 1. I have made the move next door to Voodoo Lounge in the back of Bourbon St. Corpus Christi Tx. So make sure to come and say Hello. Here is a little footage I took with the Iphone this weekend. Tuesday means some kind of tuesday night lineup on cable tv or maybe access. But 5/24 go ahead and set that DVR as 3 djs take over Elements Lounge. We got some gigs lined up this month so we gonna go ham as always. Plus got a Beach 2 day Bay mix coming for all you people who are joining the festivities.
